Christmas part 2

Santa brought presents at the kids party and Danica and Whitney got an Easy Bake Oven. They have loved it!!! Now that Danica can read all I have to do is make sure they don't dump water all over the place.

Just a sampling of the many presents people got us this year. Don't you like the bow?

I think this was Dave's favorite present - he is now insisting that next year all his presents go under his tree.
Grandma sent beautiful dresses for the girls.

Dallin was quite pleased with his Mickey Mouse collection he got. This is just one of them.
Whitney wouldn't put this one down. She was having a blast drawing the pictures.

Since we didn't have time before Christmas, we decorated our Gingerbread houses the day after Christmas. My sister was visiting and we had a great time. Danica had help putting her house together, but then she decorated it all herself. She was very pleased with her work.

The finished product:

my house. and my sister's house
This is Danica's house. She did a great job!!

christmas part 1

Our holiday festivities started with all the Christmas Parties. Dave and I went to his work party, then we went to our ward party, and then to another work party for the kids. Here's some pics of the kids with Santa at our ward party. They all had a blast. No crying this year.

Danica wants a bedroom set for her dollhouse

Whitney wants a Cinderlla doll

and we still don't know what Dallin wanted.
Then we decorated the tree. These are the only pictures I have because I spent most of the night cleaning up broken glass. Never put a tree with glass ornaments on a tile floor. YIKES

Whitney got to put the angel on the top this year. As you can see she has shoes on because of all the broken glass. But we still had fun decorating the tree. Whitney kept putting all the ornaments in the same spot so Dave and I had to do "crowd control" later that night.

Dallin update

Hi all,

This post is more for me to mull over the situation. but feel free to comment as you please.

Dallin had his one month check this week, and according to his doctor he is very healthy, hydrated, etc. etc. etc. The only problem is that is is only 7 pounds. Yes - his birth weight.
The shortened story is that he was born at 7 lbs, one week later was 6 lb 9 oz. at two weeks he was 6 pounds 10 oz and now at 5 weeks is back to 7 pounds.
He has grown an inch in length, sleeps well at night as long as he is in our bed (he likes the company I guess, or it may just be more comfortable than the pack-n-play)

Anyway, there are many similarities between Danica and Dallin except that Dallin is perfectly happy.

The othe difference is that he won't take a bottle after he's done nursing. Which is why the doctor thinks he is getting enough. We go back next week to weigh him again to see if he just has been taking a while to increase my milk supply since it took him three weeks to figure out how to eat efficiently.
Thanks for listening, any advice, tips etc for increasing milk would be great.

She's 3

It's hard to believe that 3 years have passed since this little firecracker entered our lives. She's had to have things her way since the begining. In fact, she decided to come during Dave's finals. He missed his class presentation and then an hour or two after she was born he bolted to take two finals.

She went from this little bundle to this wild child.
She ended up having a TinkerBell birthday although we didn't really plan it that way. She actually wanted a pink princess cake, but this is what I could do in the half hour I had to decorate her cake. Dave and Danica picked out her presents and got her all TinkerBell toys, and then he aunt gave her tinkerbell hair things and jewlery. (I forgot to rotate this picture - sorry)

Getting ready to blow out the candles.

Happy Birthday Whitney!!

Dallin Walter Kilton

Sunday the 16th we welcomed our little boy into the world. It was a very easy delivery so we are pleased and it was well worth the trip back up to utah. We are very Thankful for our wonderful doctor there. A one day recovery is much better than 4 months.
Here is daddy talking to Grandma on the phone. The picture doesn't quite capture his excitement.

Danica and Whitney meet their new brother for the first time.

All of us about an hour after he was born.

Some pictures of us the past few days.
Whitney and Grandma having some fun times with Dallin

Whitney is in awe of how little Dallin is and loves to see him with his eyes open.

Starting him early!! Go cougars!! (this was taken during the byu u of u game) We just wish the cougars played better, maybe next year.

NEW Arrival

It's a BOY!
Our waiting is over. All worked out great!
We headed to the hospital Sunday morning and all went well.
Dallin Walter Kilton arrived on Nov 16th after very little effort.
See him and his stats here:
http://www.hospitalportraits.com/

We have lots of pictures, but the SD drive on my laptop erased my last card and I don't want to chance that this time, so check back next week after I get home to NM and I'll have them up asap. I know you are all waiting to see more of him.

For the Love of my Life

This is for my darling husband who is my everything. I miss you more than you know. Every night I pray that this baby will not come until you make it up here. Baby is anxious to come out and meet everyone.

Dave you are the Love of my Life and my never-ending support.

our move and other things

We actually had a very uneventful move. We are almost unpacked and organized. It goes much faster when Dave is around. The only hitch we have run into is that there isn't a doctor in the State that will deliver my baby unless I agree to a C-Section. So after being here for a week, I am heading up to my in-laws and waiting for the baby to come. Seeing as the baby dropped 2 weeks ago and I have been having contractions all week, and that the other two came early I don't think I will have to wait long.
Whitney is coming with me and Danica is staying with Dave so she can go to school.
Danica is in full day kindergarten here and she gets to ride the bus. She loves both. We talked to her after her first full day and she said I haven't gone a full day yet - she thought full day meant that should would be at school for as many hours as daddy is at work. She is a cutie pie.
Whitney is enjoying her time to herself and spends most days in her room playing with everything that has been in storage.
hope you are all well and getting ready for that big Turkey Day coming up. I don't know when I'll get pictures up, but I will try to remind Dave to post when the baby comes.

we made it

I think this was the least adventurous of all our moves so far. We made it without major problems and now are ready to start unpacking.
The kids are excited to be here and have alread spread their toys all over. We are very grateful to our friends who are letting us rent their house - we have never had so much space!! I'm going to get spoiled.

As Halloween approaches Danica has been thinking about candy alot. This was our breakfast conversation.

"mom, are jelly beans the goodest candy for you?"
"What?"
" well, they are beans!"

Halloween Carnival

Tonight was the school's halloween carnival. The girls were so excited to get to wear their costumes. Not the best picture, but that's as long as I could keep them still.

They really enjoyed the cupcake walk. In fact I think they played it about 5 times. Whitney won 3 cupcakes and Danica won 1. Whitney was dancing her way around the numbers and Danica had to make sure she stepped on each number as she went around. I think Whitney really enjoyed her first cupcake.

Some other games they played

Danica got to be part of the magic show. I'm not sure why this pic turned out fuzzy, but she got to pick a card and then a ghost turned over her card while it was on the table. She was so excited to get to participate.
The girls also won some goldfish. They were absolutely thrilled to get to have their first pet. Although we decided that when carnivals give fish away as prized, they need to provide a small bag of fish food. The girls were very concerned that their fish would get hungry. So, I sent Dave out to go get some food and it's probalby a good thing since the directions on the food say to feed them several times a day. We'll see how long the fish last. Danica has named hers Amber.

We are so glad that we are able to stay around until after the Halloween festivities because we missed out on most of this stuff last year.
Happy Halloween to everyone!

A bit more details surrounding our new car purchase. We have been looking for quite some time for a van since we haven't really fit in our little car since Whitney was born, but we haven't found anything we were happy with. We have been seriously talking to Danica about a new car since August, and many of these conversations have ended in tears because she doesn't want to part with "Champy". Well, we left the kids with Grandma while we went to check out this van. Dave and I both loved it, it was the right price and in exellent condition so we signed the papers, called Grandma to bring up the kids and we had a new car. When Danica got in she exclaimed "That's our new van!! I love it!!" Then when she realized it had a DVD system she said "I was so excited I burped!" So, her fears were diminished as she discovered this new van. I'm loving the space!

And that night the girls were able to take a bath with their only girl cousin even close to their age on Dave's side. They love this little girl and wish they could live closer to her.

It's official

We got word this morning that Dave's official start date is Nov 13th. Exactly two weeks before this baby is due. We are happy that they did offer him a GS5 position instead of GS4. So we are very excited about that.
We are moving on Nov 1 to get everything down there and settled before the baby comes.
Also some other good news - we also found a fabulous deal on a Honda Odessey so this past weekend we went and traded in our little nissan for this fabulous van.

So we are very pleased to finally be done with the waiting stuff. Now we just have to make sure we have a place to live and get things situated with Danica's school. and pack of course.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us through this crazy time in our life adventure!!

a lot of Randomness

So this post has many many pictures of what we do from day to day. My kids are either bouncing off the walls or glued to the TV - what are we going to do when we move and no longer have the TV??? JK we have done it many times before and as you'll see we have many other things that can keep them out of trouble. So this is what we do to keep them occupied.
I love this picture of the girls. I took it a week or so ago one morning while we were reading scriptures. They were just sitting on the couch "listening" and then Whitney grabbed Danica and just hugged her for a long time - well, long enough for me to find the camera and snap a picture.

Whitney is a funny girl lately. This next pic I was checking on the girls before I went to bed since Whitney has been bringing toys into her bed after we tuck her in. This is what I found. Sheets off the bed, in her Sunday dress holding her pj's with books and toys all around.

This was last Sunday. Can you believe her hair is actually long enough to put in a twist?! I braided it today. Curly hair is so misleading.

Painted LIPs anyone?

That's what happens when mom and dad aren't paying close enough attention during painting time.
Another day of painting. Danica and Whitney love to paint. Whenever Daddy pulls out his hobby they always want to paint along with him. The girls even have their own figures to paint (they call them B-guys, you'lll have to ask Dave about that one) This time they were just painting with their paint kit.

Another thing we like to do is make cookies. They love to add the ingredients and stir and of course eat the dough and lick the spoons.

After Danica's primary program in Sept the primary made "prayer rocks". This is what Danica came up with. I think it's super cute. Way better than the prayer rocks we made when we were kids. She gets it mixed up though and actually sleeps with it on the bed desipite our continual persistance that it belongs on the floor for sleeping time.
Well, I guess that takes care of everything. Sorry it was so long.
