And the Adventure Continues

It is official. We have landed a job with a pay raise - whoo hooo!!
And we are off to the "magical" place of ... Idaho.
He will be working at Crater of the Moon National Monument.
We leave here in one month. So now the packing begins (and the cheers die away)
So for those of you in Utah we won't be so far away now, but for everyone else - well what can I say, there's still the blog right.

marathon blogging day

Hi there, well, I think I have caught up today on all the major events of the past month. There a quite a few so have fun reading!!

Extra time before church

We finally had spare time before church. Danica wanted curly hair for church today and she must have really wanted it because she stoood in front of the mirror for almost an hour while I curled her hair witha curling iron. At first I had told her that if she wanted curly hair she would need to tell me the night before, but she then proceed to tell me that she would let me curl it with the curling iron - which she is afraid of btw. It turned out really cute. OH, and about two weeks ago she cut her hair twice in one week and so I once again had to fix it, only this time it required getting bangs. But, she looks cute with them and fortunately she doesn't have her moms hair (like I thought), and her bangs are completely straight no matter if they are wet or not.

Back view
What cuties they are. And they even love each other - sometimes. :)
Then, as we were packing up the last few things in the bag danica comes out of the bed room and said "i'm a cute Mr. Potato Head" Yes you are Danica.

Whitney then found the carrot that Danica had peeled and some bunny ears. She started hopping around with the carrot in her mouth. I have a video that I'm trying to post, but well, we have issues with posting videos so maybe you'll get it and maybe you won't.

Pictures from our trip

Here we are all loaded up for the trip. We left about 10 pm for the three hour drive. It's crazy how much room all the car seats take up. We were kind of squished in the van.
After we did the sessions we changed and ate some lunch. Here are some of our silly play times while we eat.

Pringles make the perfect duck bill.So cute!!What more can I say about this. What fun friends we have. So, make up your own story about what's going on. And of course. You have to eat yogurt with your hands. It's just funner to lick it off your fingers than a spoon.
After lunch we got cleaned up and went to take picutres in front of the temple. It was kind of windy and cold (only about 50 degrees) but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. They were doing lawn work so we couldn't take the kids around to look at the grounds. We were so excited to be in a big city!!! We went to the mall and went in all the fun stores we don't have around here. We let the girls play at the mall playground and then we went to Toys R Us and dreamed. Danica however picked out all her birthday toys and I suppose we are going to need a much better job because she picked out the whole store. Typical kid don't you think. After we were tired window shopping, we headed over to TGIFridays for dinner. Dave is such a good daddy. He kept Danica occupied the entire time we were waiting for our food.Yes, she is coloring his fingernails with a crayon.

After we had stuffed ourselves for dinner we headed back home. What a fun time we had. We will truely miss our wonderful friends here. But the great thing about good friends is that you always have a place to visit!!!

Caught Napping

The other day Whitney decided to take a nap up on Danica's bed (they have bunk beds for those that didn't know). Suddenly I heard this loud thump so I quickly went in to check and make sure she was ok. She was still asleep but she had sat up and bonked her head on the wall. She was buried underneath dress ups and stuffed animals.

When I took the picutre she woke up so of course I had to take this one.

What better way to wake up then with a camera in your face. What our pour children put up with and yet they still love us.

Friends Birthday

A little while ago we had a birthday party for one of our friends. we went to the park and played badminton and had a BBQ. I guess we didn't pull out the camera there because I can't find any pictures. After it got dark we went to our friends house for cake - which he didn't know about. This is him being surprised by his cake. Blowing out the candle with his wife.
Playing with their son on a trike
The two babies discovering each other. How cute these two are together!!

More friends enjoying the cake!! It was supper yummy.
Here is the recipe for this delicious cake. Waky cake turned into better than sex cake.

3 c flour

2 c sugar

1/2 c cocoa

2 tsp salt

2 tsp baking soda

Mix all these into a 9x13 pan. Then make one long trench down the middle and two small holes on either side.

Pour 1 1/3 c oil into the trench

Pour 2 tbsp vinegar into one hole

Pour 1 tbsp vanilla into the other hole

Pour 2 c water on the whole thing.

Mix well and bake at 350 degrees F for about 40 minutes.

Mix 1/2 can sweetned condensed milk and 3/4 of a can of carmel together. After cake has cooked and cooled slightly poke holes all over and pour the carmel mixture over the cake. Let it soak in and the cake cool completely.

Spread 1 8 oz tub of Cool Whip on top

Sprinkle crushed Heath/Skor bars over top.

our trip

We had a fabulous trip with our friend to the Temple yesterday.

We mad a day out of it because it is quite a drive. On our way down the van just quit for no reason. Well, we ended up stopping right next to a building that had the words "Prayer Hut" on the window. We realized we had not prayed when we left so we prayed and the van started right back up and we had no other problems the whole trip. When we arrived at the house we were staying at (which happened to be right across the street from the temple) I asked Danica and Whitney what the building was. Whitney took one look, gasped and said "it's a castle!" How cute. I then told her it was the temple and she said "temple pretty". We did temple stuff in the morning and then played the rest of the day. We had so much fun with our friends and the kids were wonderful for the trip.

I haven't downloaded the pictures to go along with this story but petty soon there will be a whole lot of [pictures to post.

Side note - this morning when Dave tried to leave for work, our car wouldn't start. It just made some nice clicking noises. We managed to get him a ride to work and I spent the morning trying to figure out what was wrong. Turned out we just had a dead battery. I really should look into replacing batteries before they die - don't you think. As I was learning about the car today I realized we have had the same battery in the car since we bought it 5 years ago (batteries are only supposed to last 3-4 years). Oh well, it's fixed.

Scary Monsters

Monday morning Dave was playing with Danica and Whitney on our bed, when they decided to play "monster". After a few minutes of hearing "ROAR" and "AAHHH" Dave started laughing his head off because he was suddenly being frightened by Whitney who said "I the Holy Ghost" and Danica who said "I'm an Injan Turtle".
What fun things kids pretend to be. Needless, Dave did talk with Whitney and reassured her that the Holy Ghost is not a scarry thing. We truly love when Daddy is home to play!!

Some days are so fun at our house. Whitney thinks her sister is so funny. She couldn't even get cleaned up from lunch before they started goofing off.THis is what Whitney is laughing at. For those of you who haven't seen Enchanted, she is doing her impression of the troll at the beginning.
