Eater Activities

Wishing you a wonderful Easter from all of us
Our activities started with egg dying on Saturday night. Love the pj's girls.
Dying the eggs with mom and dad (sorry no pics of mom I had the camera)

Having fun with
stickers

The finished product

Our egg hunt this morning. Too bad the easter bunny forgot to hide the empty eggs so we could have a quick lesson about the empty tomb. Oh well it happens.

Whitney found a treasure

Danica finding one of her hidden eggs

Finshed hunting eggs and very excited about their finds

This is what happens when you are running a bit late for church because of an easter egg hunt, and are saving time by doing your make-up in the car and your husband doesn't warn you that the light just turned green. I made that ugg sigh and Dave just got all deffensive until he looked over and saw just want he had caused. Then we both busted up laughing. Luckily I had some q-tips in my bag so I was able to fix the disaster before we got to church.

Spiderwebs

Dave was asleep on the couch. Danica walk in and says, "Daddy are those spiderwebs in your nose?"
Daddy, "No dear, it's hair"
Danica, "Why do you have hair in your nose?"

I just started laughing when she asked if he had spiderwebs. I did ask Dave's permission if I could share this with you. Sorry there's not a picuter Dave moved before I could get a good shot.

Kids are great!!!!

tagged plates???!!!

I can't believe this. Dave missed his bus this morning and I need the car so we packed the girls (sleeping) into the car and headed down to the cave. There was a cop in front of me and then he pulled into a turn only lane put on his brakes until I had passed and then sped up until he was right on my tail - HELLO ???!!

I had my cruise on at 55 which was the speed limit and I was not aware of any rules I had broken. I try to be a good driver. Well, he stays on my tail for a few miles and then turns his lights on. Dave and I are thinking what in the world is going on - again. (for those of you who don't know, Dave and I got pulled over about 4 times in the first two months we were here for having out of state plates and a headlight that was out - twice in one day once)

I pull over and he comes over and procedes to tell me that my plates are tagged and that every cop from here to timbucktoo is going to pull me over until I get insurance. well hello - we have insurance. So we tell him we have insurance here in New mexico and give him our agents name, but because our glove box is insanely messy we aren't able to find that little piece of paper that states we do infact have insurance. Well, he keeps talking but my mind is going a million miles a minute about stupid insurance companies and this that and the other. So yeah for us we are marked by the police.
Well, we call both our previous agent and our current agent and leave messages because it is too early for them to be in the office. Our previous agent calls us back and tell us that her computer shows that we have active insurance in the state of New Mexico and it is inforce. What is going on here???

Insurance companies - argghhhhhh

SNOW

What crazy weather we are having. Sunday was a beautiful 80 degrees and we got excited for daddy's day off. Then we woke up MOnday morning to some snow on the ground. We didn't let it get us down though and the girls completely forgot about eating breakfast. They had their snow things on before daddy even got out of his room. So they waited patiently by the door until we were ready to take them out. I love how Whitney even had to put on sun glasses.

We all had a fun snowball fight. I didn't last long because whitney didn't like getting hit with the snow and she wouldn't keep her mittens on. As you can see it was still snowing. How much fun

Danica had so much fun making her snow angel, and then daddy made a little snow dog that Danica named Aurora.

Yawn, it's another one of those days.

What a night!! After an exhausting game of 4 on 4 ultimate last night Whitney decided to wake up right when it was time for Dave and I to go to bed. After singing her back to sleep 4 times only to have her keep waking up I tried to put her in bed with daddy. That was not going to work she screamed and screamed even harder. So I let her cry while I get ready for bed and then try to lay down with her. Nope, she doesn't believe I'm there. So I pick her up and go out to the rocking chair. 1 am and we are both still awake. She is crying tummy hurt mommy. Well, we unfortunately don't have anything for tummy aches right now so I keep trying to soothe her and find out where in her tummy. Finally she says "hungy mommy" So we pull out some gold fish (thanks grandma) and a drink. Put her back in her bed and hope this works. NOPE. As soon as I leave the crying begins again. So, as tired as I was I tried a movie. As i am in and out of consciousness Danica also wakes up because she wants to watch a movie too. YIKES. So it is now 3:30 am and now everyone but daddy is awake. I decide this isn't going to work, take the movie away go find some tylenol and sing many many primary songs to my overtired children. Yes - success. They both finally fall asleep. I crawl back into bed at 4 am. Two hours later the alarm goes off. UGGGHH. I lay there for an hour and let Dave get ready by himself (again -thanks for the cereal grandma) and since I can't fall back asleep get up at 7. Only to have my children wake up half an hour later. So, being completely exhausted and not wanting to deal with finghting over anything I pull out the borrowed portable dvd player (thanks Quin) and they each got to watch their own movie in their own part of the house while mommy tries to rest.

And, while I was finishing up some work and they were watching their movies, Whitney somehow snuck into the cuboard and found pudding, not sure how she managed to open it, but it is now all over her face. So much for rest. Sorry no pics of that one.

My Little Monkey

Whitney is my little climber. I was preoccupied with Danica and then i hear "I scared mom" I looked up and this is what I saw. Later that day - I was fixing lunch and as soon as I wasn't looking she decided that the couch was her next adventure. After she had climbed it, she jumped off and landed on the cusions.

Church happenings

Well, our ward was split today at ward conference. Since we haven't been here very long we weren't sure of what ward we were in until we got home and looked at a map. Dave and I are fine. We have been through many splits before, but this was Danica's first time. She seemed fine with it until we were talking later this evening so she was aware of who was still in her class and such. When she found out that her best buddie Trey was no longer in her class she ran to her room to cry on her bed. (Do I even want to know what her teenage years are going to be like?) We let her cry for a few minutes and then we had a talk about how she would still see him and go to preschool with him and everything and we reminded her of all her friends back in Provo and she softened up and was finally ok with it.
How important friends are even at such a young age.

background dilema

I have been searching for a background that really fits me - I can't find one. I really like this scottish castle and think it's beautiful, but it's not really what I'm looking for - any suggestions?

There was a high wind advisory the other day. It was reported that several cats and dogs were blown away and from the pic below I think you can see why. The winds were really strong :)

Dave makes me smile everyday at all the goofy things he does. His coworker took this picture, and I'm sure that Dave keeps things cheerful at work.

One Sunday night I decided that Danica was probably old enough to make brownies by herself. I asked her what she thought about that and she jumped up and said YES!! She made them from scratch with only mom telling her how many of what to put in. She was so proud of her accomplishment and so were we. When we were eating them she asked her dad "Dad, are these better than mom's?" She thought they were. Sorry there's only pics from the end of the fun - I didn't think to pull out the camera until she was ready to put the batter in the pan - oops Stirring the batter

Pouring it in. How big they get so fast.

Licking the bowl. What could be better than that?!!
