For St. Patrick's Day this year, I made green pancakes and convinced the girls that leprechauns had come and gotten into the batter and turned it green. Danica even told her teacher that. I started babysitting on this day and we did a fun craft and made blarney stones.
Whitney had a blast. I need to do things like this more often.

4 and 5 months of Dallin
So I have been extrememly busy as of late. I started babysitting, we had family out for Dallin's blessing, and then our power cable to our laptop decided it didn't want to work, but unfortunately for me my family didn' stop growing or doing things during that time so here are a few pictures of Dallin from March 16 - his 4 month milestone.

"being King might not be so bad"

Some things I like to do are smile, laugh, and talk to people. I know how to roll over, but I don't like to because I hit my head on the floor the other day and I didn't like that too much. I found my feet and I think they are pretty cool. My sisters are the best!! I am starting to let my mommy sleep a bit at night now even though I still get up twice. I just love my mommy and hate to be away from her for that long. I love to chew on my toys and I drool all over everyone. I still spit up too, but usually save it for daddy or when we are out and about.

What have my kids been up to?
The end of February Dave introduced Dallin to the world of Pretty Pretty Princess. Yes - Dave dressed his son up in Princess Jewlery. Apparently he didn't mind too much.

We didn't actually get grass planted either, but it probably wasn't a bad thing since it just snowed last weekend.

She really did like it despite the funny look on her face.

Need a Massage?
For all my friends in Utah -
My mother is a certified massage therapist and she is making a business trip to Utah the first full week in April (4-11) and she is looking for people that would like to have a massage.
If you are interested you can email her at heavenlytouchrc@yahoo.com
She is filling up fast so if you are interested don't wait to contact her and get all the details.
And I have to say - if you have never had a massage you need to try it. You feel so good afterward.

more about Dallin
I'm sure some of you are curious about what's happening with Dallin - well, I've tried to supplement him, and he's just not hungry after he nurses - or he's too stubborn to take formula. He will take my milk from a bottle if I have any to give him after he eats, but when given formula he just smiles at me and lets it all drool out all over the place.
The doctor gave him some medicine to help him spit up less, and that seems to be helping.
All-in-all this has been really rough on me and i am sure the rest of my family. The doctor and I have also discussed pumping and adding fortifier or formula to it to see if we can calorie pack it, but we are doing well for now, but I really could use some extra sleep. I am exhausted.

Playing dolls???
Whitney wanted so much to play with Dallin. She handed him her Cinderella barbie and he grabbed it and tried to eat it. He has really gotten the hang of grabbing and putting into his mouth.

Don't worry Dave doesn't know he was playing with barbies. :)

3 Months
On Feb 16 Dallin was officially 3 months old. Isn't he cute! He's always so bright eyed and smiley. And of course he still does this...
He has started grabbing for things and loves to play with his family. He enjoys short tummy times and can lift his head quite well. He enjoys being outside like the rest of his family. He is still quite the cuddlebug and has to sleep half the night with his daddy (or no one sleeps).
He is a joy in our lives!

Whitney's first haircut
We decided (in January) that it was finally time to even out Whitney's hair. This is what it looked like before. Kind of wild don't you think?
Danica was the photographer for the event and I'm not sure what Whitney was complaining about here. She actually liked getting her hair cut. Danica kept distracting her and making her move her head all over so this might be when I told her it was going to be really short if she didn't keep still.
The finished cut. Nothing fancy, just evened. It's probably a good thing she has curly hair though. She likes it.

hiking trip.
Jan 19th Danica had the day off and so did Dave. So we took advantage of that and the beautiful weather and hiked up the Canyon.
There are carins marking the hiking trail and the girls found a stick and decided to beat the carins to see if they could knock it over.

Some fun with the camera. I really like how they turned out. If you can't tell, Whitney is the first one and Danica is the second. They are so grown up I can't believe it.

Dave insisted on carrying both the backback and the snuggli. I was in the process of putting the snuggli on and he took it off and said he would take it. What a crazy guy. He took a small break to adore his son. I didn't quite capture the true moment on the camera, but oh well. Danica tried out her photography skills too. Dad wanted proof that I am involved in the family too :)

Then we picniced at Rattlesnake Springs.
There was an enormous tree that the girls couldn't resist playing on. There was dancing, balancing, and crawling going on. Dallin even got in on the fun.

Another picture of Dave and his son. He really is tied around his finger, just like the girls.
The ominous garbage can - These cans are designed to keep animals out. If you look closely (or click on the picture for a bigger view) you can see that the back part has this nice metal ridge that comes down on the back when you open the lid. Well...
She decided that she was going to help throw the trash away - without telling her dad. Well, he opened the lid right when she put her hand on the can to open the lid the way she thought it opened and this was the result. YIKES. Her finger will probably look like this until her fingernail grows out. Maybe that is a good excuss for fingernail polish.Posted by Christina at 8:00 AM 5 comments

Test Results
Well, Dallin had his test yesterday and the results so far are normal. And I am grateful, but we still have no answers. I am ready to just start supplementing.
I hate supplementing because I feel that I have failed to provide for my child. I felt that way with Danica too. But it might just be the best thing for my baby, but the thought of it makes me want to cry - I don't like failure. I don't like feeling that I'm not good enough for my child, and that is how supplementing makes me feel.
Dave keeps telling me everything is fine because he is such a happy baby - unlike Danica. Maybe he's right, maybe he is just a slow grower and not the norm.

Spit happens
We had our check uo yesterday. He gained one more pound. So he is consistently gaining a pound per month, but that still makes him only 9 pounds at 3 months. He also grew another inch (22.5") We think he may have an issue with reflux sice this is what he looks like almost all day.
The boy spits up for the entire two hours between feedings on most days. So they are going to do a test on monday to see for sure.
If you really want to get the full effect, go ahead and click on the picture -

How we spend our time
We really enjoy playing games with friends. Especially Pretty Pretty Princess. I think this must be the girls favorite (as it has appeared in many posts so far). We ran into a long-time friend at church a few weeks back and she came over and played with the girls and visited. We had a blast.
