What a night!! After an exhausting game of 4 on 4 ultimate last night Whitney decided to wake up right when it was time for Dave and I to go to bed. After singing her back to sleep 4 times only to have her keep waking up I tried to put her in bed with daddy. That was not going to work she screamed and screamed even harder. So I let her cry while I get ready for bed and then try to lay down with her. Nope, she doesn't believe I'm there. So I pick her up and go out to the rocking chair. 1 am and we are both still awake. She is crying tummy hurt mommy. Well, we unfortunately don't have anything for tummy aches right now so I keep trying to soothe her and find out where in her tummy. Finally she says "hungy mommy" So we pull out some gold fish (thanks grandma) and a drink. Put her back in her bed and hope this works. NOPE. As soon as I leave the crying begins again. So, as tired as I was I tried a movie. As i am in and out of consciousness Danica also wakes up because she wants to watch a movie too. YIKES. So it is now 3:30 am and now everyone but daddy is awake. I decide this isn't going to work, take the movie away go find some tylenol and sing many many primary songs to my overtired children. Yes - success. They both finally fall asleep. I crawl back into bed at 4 am. Two hours later the alarm goes off. UGGGHH. I lay there for an hour and let Dave get ready by himself (again -thanks for the cereal grandma) and since I can't fall back asleep get up at 7. Only to have my children wake up half an hour later. So, being completely exhausted and not wanting to deal with finghting over anything I pull out the borrowed portable dvd player (thanks Quin) and they each got to watch their own movie in their own part of the house while mommy tries to rest.

My Little Monkey
Later that day - I was fixing lunch and as soon as I wasn't looking she decided that the couch was her next adventure. After she had climbed it, she jumped off and landed on the cusions.

Church happenings
Well, our ward was split today at ward conference. Since we haven't been here very long we weren't sure of what ward we were in until we got home and looked at a map. Dave and I are fine. We have been through many splits before, but this was Danica's first time. She seemed fine with it until we were talking later this evening so she was aware of who was still in her class and such. When she found out that her best buddie Trey was no longer in her class she ran to her room to cry on her bed. (Do I even want to know what her teenage years are going to be like?) We let her cry for a few minutes and then we had a talk about how she would still see him and go to preschool with him and everything and we reminded her of all her friends back in Provo and she softened up and was finally ok with it.
How important friends are even at such a young age.

background dilema
I have been searching for a background that really fits me - I can't find one. I really like this scottish castle and think it's beautiful, but it's not really what I'm looking for - any suggestions?

Dave makes me smile everyday at all the goofy things he does. His coworker took this picture, and I'm sure that Dave keeps things cheerful at work.

i got tagged
- A.The rules of this game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the question about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, and then leaves a comment on their blog letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog to get the directions. - Questions:
What was I doing 10 years ago:
FEbruary 1998 I was a freshman at Ricks just doing the college thing. I was also writting a missionary. I must have been boring cause I can't remember anything else. - 5 things on my to do list:
1. go to play group
2. straigten up the house
3. read my scriptures
4. play with my kids
5. ??? - things I would do if I was a billionaire.
I would pay off school debt. Buy a bigger car. Have more children. give to a charity or orphanage or both. Buy a house (once we stop moving) and just be able to do all those little things for other people that I can't do right now. - 3 of my bad habits (do I really have to share)
1. temper
2. putting other things in front of my kids
3. spending too much time on this silly computer - places I have lived;
Provo, midvale, clearfield, Roy, and Bryce Utah.
Rexburg, ID,
Lynchburg, VA
Carlsbad, NM - Jobs that I have had
gymnastics instructor
fro you server
TA for nutrition class
food service worker at long term care facility

MOM - Things most people don't know about me.
I have a hard time being a mom. I pass out when stuck with a needle (although after two kids, it's not every time) I do actually like to read. I have lived without an oven and still managed to cook for my family. I hold all my feelings inside until they come exploding out at unoportune moments. I like deep cleaning my house - I hate straightening up. I love to Scuba Dive and yes I am certified. - I tag: Laura and Elise, Brittany and Dani.

The girls both did amazing work and thouroughly enjoyed themselves as you can see.I really enjoy doing fun things like this with my girls. I just wish I had more of an imagination to come up with projects on my own.

Beautiful women
For attractive lips , speak words of kindness...
For lovely eyes , seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure , share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair , let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise , walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone...
People, even more than things, have to be restored,
renewed, revived, reclaimed,and redeemed;
never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand,
you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older,you will discover that you have two hands;
one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

some updates
I thought I would update you on some things of late.
1. Whitney finally decided she likes going to the potty - unfortunately a few days after she decided this she came down with the flu coming out both ends so we have postponed the big girl panties until this passes.
2. We are still looking for jobs. Who knows where we will end up this time.
What fun we have been having. Sorry no pics didn't think you would want to see it. :)
"Life's an adventure. Learn to enjoy the ride"
I think I will make this our family quote.

cheese
This is so precious. Whitney does this everytime we get the camera out. We hear these words all the time and finally got them on video. So now you can all see how cute this is and how she keeps us laughing all the time.

many ponderings
First off - a confession - I have a hard time sharing my inermost thoughts with people - it scares me. But, I am trying to do better at it so here goes:
I have had quite a bit on my mind as of late. As Dave is once again applying for jobs and being told no both of us have begin to wonder why (yes that awful question that I feel so guilty about asking). As all of his supervisors are very eager for him to continue his work with their park (unfortunately again at the same grade and pay level) we can't seem to figure out why a higher pay grade is eluding us. As he had talked to his internship supervisor over Christmas and was told of 10 new positions to the park we were very hopeful - and yet it turned out that they too are only GS4 and again six month positions (which is not what his supervisor told him they would be). Anywho- back to the question of why - why is it that as we try to follow the gospel guidelines and listen to the guidance of the Spirit we are always put in positions where we can barley survive. (okay maybe that's a bit dramatic) As we are left here to live on Ramen and Mac and Cheese (which I have to say is incredibly hard for a dietitan to feed her family) we ponder how a family with two college graduates struggle to live in this world and why does no one want someone with a degree. And what problem does the government have that they don't want families to be part of the park system. and yada yada yada. I could go on forever.
I do however, find peace in that we do know that we are doing what we are supposed to, and we have decided that unless some kind of miracle happens with the park service, our time with them is drawing to a close. We just don't feel right about the living situations it is putting us in and the dead end we feel as we contemplate what we want for our family. We are hoping and praying that as this door closes another door will open. (And we are just waiting to hear from that particular door.)
I also have been reminded of that refining fire (or whatever you call it) that we are put through here on earth. Despite the struggles of now we both feel that we are being prepared for something in the future. This has given us tremedous strength and courage as we face, once again, the unknown.
