Halloween festivities

So here are the pictures from the last post - and yes Mary you were right - hot dogs wrapped up like mummies. And potato slices cut into claws. The brains were just peach jello mixed with whip cream. (the brain mold was left in the sleeping baby's closet)

Onto the carnival. Who knew that Hannah Montana and Cinderella were such sloppy eaters??

Then we met up with Daphne, and played games.

Here's a group shot of the disney bunch

Dinner on Halloween was boo pizza and dracula punch. The girls wouldn't drink until I gave in and told them what was on the cups. Sorry the pizza didn't get in the shot much - it's just pizza with cheese ghosts nothing too fancy.

Carving pumpkins while watching It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is a yearly tradition.

What posers I have for children.
Danica and whitney loved cutting the pumpkins, but were kind of grossed out by the guts, so I pulled most of them out. Danica was a trooper and she did a lot of hers.

Dave is carving Dallin's because Dallin went to bed. But Dallin got some pumpkin time later...

Pictures on our way out to trick or treat with friends.

Doesn't smee look like a real bad bottom with his binky.(dave's quote)

start of the Halloween fun

Each week starting the begining of October I have tried to have spooky diner night. The family loves it and looks forward to it. The first week we had "sloppy gobblins". Each person got to make their own gobblin face.

Mine's too cute - not scary enough.
The next week we had 'werewolf claws' and 'brains'. This was a big hit and everyone pretended they were zombies. I have to say these were the best brains I have ever eaten.

This week we had mummy dogs and monster claws but I don't have the pictures on the computer yet. but, use your imagination as to what they were, let me know and then next post I will post them. If you want any recipes let me know too.
Happy Halloween!!

I'm 11 months old

Hi there.

It's been a while since I've let mom post. I am almost one now and I keep everyone on their toes. I got my first tooth a few weeks ago and just got my 2nd one yesterday. I don't like it when they come in, but those popcicles mom gives me are great. I like being able to go wherever I want, but mom doesn't like it when I disappear into my sisters room.
I've even tried to play the wii, but mom doesn't like that either.

My favorite thing to do is eat...

This is my first time eating lasagna. I loved it. I ate almost two whole peices plus mom made me eat some veggies too. I don't mind those, but this was much better.
I had a doctor's visit last week and the nurse had to measure me twice because she couldn't believe that I had grown so much. I'm now 18 pounds and 27 inches long.
I still love to flirt with all the girls and flash them my smile.
I love to play with anything with wheels, and I can say dad, mom, and bob-bob (that's my grandpa if you were wondering).
I love being outside and everything that goes along with that.
Well, I think that's all for now. Thanks for taking the time to see how I'm doing.

Games we play

Now that Dallin is mobile the girls and he play fun games all through the house. This is one of their favorites. We call it "The monster"

I love to watch them chase each other and giggle and squeal. The slap, slap of Dallin's hands on the tile add to the 'monster' effect of this game. One day he will be fast enough to catch them.

Christmas Advent Calendar Class

I'm teaching this class in November. For more details click here. You don't have to live near by to take advantage of this either.
I need confirmation by Nov 1 so I can order the materials. The boxes are treat boxes for each day and it's magnetic so it can be used year after year.
This is part of what I do in my Stampin' Up! business. It's super fun and I love creating. Plus they just released their digital crafting software - see me website for more details about that (link to the left in the sites to see column)
Have a great day.

finishing up the summer

Once the spring runoff had finally died down we had lots of fun playing in the river behind our house. Here's just a few pics to show off our fun.

The rocks were the favorite part for everyone. I think Dallin actually ate some. We waded in, fell in and well - I think I got the wettest of everyone. Lots of smiles, laughs and memories.
I really enjoyed living the in the heart of the Rockies.
We hiked a lot more than I've showen here, but hey I'm summing things up. If anyone loves to hike and loves animals and the outdoors in general we highly recommend Rocky Mountain National Park. 'Course if you are on the east coast we would recommend the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Anyway - all of us really enjoyed the serenity of the summer. There's nothing like looking out your window at the mountains and rivers and hearing the wind rustling through the trees in your own forest, watching the elk graze your yard and the hummingbirds fly into your house. It is definately a great place to relax, regroup and remember what's really important in life.

What we did over the summer part 4

The begining of August Dave's parents and his sister came out to visit. This was the same weekend we found out about our new job. We did a small hike with them around Bear Lake

Water, water, water...

Family photo op

We had a great time while there were there, and then Grandma took the girls back to her house for a week. It was nice to get some packing done without all the unpacking of the already packed. (at least until they came back)

After the kids had been gone for the week Dave, Dallin and I took a trip out to Utah for the weekend and had a fabulous time and dave got the opportunity to see his brother called as bishop of his LDS ward. It was wonderful.

Then came the packing and Dallin decided he could pull himself up onto everything.

A music video

I wanted to share this with all of you and let you know why -- Dave and I both love this song because of when we first heard it. We first heard it on the radio inbetween when we thought we weren't getting the permanent job and when we found out we did. So pay close attention to the lyrics and you'll see why this song is now one of our favs.

What we did over the summer part 3

We took a trip to Grandma H's house. We did many fun things while at their house. Grandpa took some time off work to go hike behind their house in the beautiful Black Hills.

Dallin loves his Grandma and Grandpa and the outdoors of course.

Whitney and Danica had a blast in the lake and playing games with Grandpa. We got some crazy video, but I didn't think my parents would like that being broadcast online. But everyone had a great time.
And who can go hiking without a campfire and smores?? Not us of course, guess it's a good thing they have a pit in their backyard.

mmmmmm... messy, gooey, chocolatey children!
Another have to go place at Grandma's is Storybook Island. A FREE PARK full of storybook statues and playareas. People adopt the statues and sponser days and there is a donation box so that kids can play to their hearts content and the parents can too. There were so many pictures I just picked a few that showed all the kids (Danica was too speedy for the camera most of the day)

Taking a ride on the elephant.
The firetruck... They totally loved it!
We had a great relaxing time at their house. We hadn't been there since they moved and it was good to see great-grandma too - and feed the horses and play in the hayfields. We love Grandparents.

What we did over the summer part 2

The 4th of July. We started out the day at a ward breakfast. The girls were off playing with the other kids and Dallin enjoyed sitting on the lawn. I love this picture - I think it captures his true personality.

Then we went to my cousin's aunt's house on the lake and the girls had their first experience on a water trampoline and ocean kayak. My cousin's cousin (on his mom's side) was very gracious to take my kids out as there weren't any life jackets that fit Dallin.

We had lots of fun at the lake, good food, family, and a fun ride on the boat. That night we had a bbq with some other rangers and then hiked to a peak and watched fireworks.

What we did over the summer part 1

The girls would say the best thing they did this summer was take Dance lessons. They both had Tap and Ballet, and Danica also had Jazz added into her class. The both loved it.

Whitney's class got to use ribbons alot.
Danica really enjoyed the ballet part of her class

I think she did a great job too.
